Notes on Feednet ed 7: this new CRM won't save you

Notes on Feednet Vol. 7

We're in Mailchimp now, it's fancy.

See you later, limited design TinyURL. We're in the big time and I will use every font available.  Look out for extremely niche Chicago politics content, more 5 Minute Speech Coach curricula, and maybe even some *personal updates* coming soon.   Here's the round up:  + Did you know that every workplace has terrible professional slang that makes them want to die inside?   + Speaking of death, it's on the internet.  + What is TikTok and how is it different from Vine? The New York Times: "TikTok is the towering stick falling far and fast, not caring to wait to evolve through a wriggling, cumbersome social phase." A Teen I Know: "it's not different from Vine."  + This article on Facebook content moderators has it all: contractor exploitation, tech horror, secondary trauma on the internet, and dystopian rules that distort reality.   + I think this is like the Grammys of Chicago journalism.  + A lot of people on this list are usually looking for jobs: if you're ever one of those people, bookmark Matt's list of digital campaign jobs. (I don't know Matt.)  + Ow. This one hurt but it's real.   If you live in Chicago: good luck with the runoffs, and also I'm sorry.   If you don't live in Chicago: this is why there haven't been "quarterly-ish" Feednets.   No matter where you live: I'm sorry about all the sad prestige media tech write ups.   - H  PS -- The barbell is all of the Chicago politics explainers/quizzes/infographics released the day before the election. We're all the snoozing guy.
